Terror of the Tango
The tango can be far more dangerous than you might think thanks to intertwined legs. I can't tell you the number of people who went down.
Hiding
There are some dances I really hated doing. I wasn't above hiding to escape a partner for them.
Steps
Here the intrepid student has taped the dance moves to the floor as a cheat sheet. I never did it, but it was tempting at times.
Invisible Partner
One of my favorite ways to practice (which is great for balance) was to dance without a partner.
The Rack
I often felt this was what my teacher wanted to do to me.
Music
It was always rather amazing to me how much teachers would fight over what music got played next.
Thirsty
I was always amazing how thirsty you could get from dancing.
Office Chat
I did not enjoy office chat. Fortunately, the person manning the front desk usually didn't give me up when I was hiding.
Knee Spins
I sometimes suspected an ulterior motive with spins.
The Pole
Other than waxed floors (which took out more than one dancer), the mirror was dangerous. There was more than one collision with it.
The Mirror
Group classes could be dangerous if you didn't watch where you were backing into. The pole in the middle of the room took out more than one unwary soul.
